Teddy Club Teddy Club recently celebrated its 14th birthday. Following the regular play session in the hall the children and their carers went into church, sang songs, enjoyed story time with Jem and blew out the candles on the birthday cake, kindly made by Margaret Brown. Teddy club is on Friday afternoons at 1.30 pm.
It has been a tough year for our Boys Brigade with the loss of our much loved Captain, Frank Mayo. We are really pleased to report that his son Dave has agreed to take over as the new Captain and the Brigade welcomes boys from 5 years old. Cannock Chase Churches Housing Coalition
The Cannock Chase Churches Housing Coalition held a united service
recently at St Aidan's
Church. The Bishop of Wolverhampton, Bishop Clive, took part in the service. Homelessness is a bigger
problem in the Cannock Chase area than anyone seems to appreciate. Since
the beginning of last year the government has made the work of the
coalition and other groups like them more difficult and in some cases
impossible. As a group they are struggling with just three
volunteers from over forty churches in the Cannock Chase area. The
work load is increasing as more people come seeking help. More
people are losing their homes through job losses, causing family break
downs, debt and inability to pay mortgages.
Saturday mornings during January from 10 am - 12 you are invited to come along for a morning snack; enjoy bacon baps, toast and drinks in good company. Quiz Night The young people of the church recently organised a fun quiz night. The church hall was full and a great time was had by all. Over £200 was raised for church funds. Well done for all your hard work!
Good News!! Another quiz will be held
later this year
