Bring & Share Lunch We had a bring and share lunch to celebrate St Stephen's 38th anniversary on Sunday 26 June. We held a gift day, where contributions will help continue the work of our church in the community, one of the areas being our Alpha course beginning in September. Concert for Olivia A 'Strawberry Concert' was held on Friday 1 July at 7.30 pm with St Stephen's singers. A magnificent £750 was raised. All proceeds went to the Olivia Clarke Appeal, the six year old stuck by meningitis who had to have both hands and feet amputated after contracting blood poisoning from the disease. Christian Aid Collectors raised a magnificent £1906.09 this year, which is the best ever total. Thanks to everyone involved. Jazz Concert This years concert was held on 30 July at 7.00 pm in Val and Mike's garden. Over £400 was raised for Jeel-Al-Amal home for needy boys in Jerusalem, supported by our Boys Brigade. Holiday Club Again we are holding a holiday club in August. This year it is entitled 'Landlubbers' and is based on a pirate theme. We have been busy collecting pringle tubes, washing tablet boxes, bottle tops etc. Fun Day We held a children's fun day at St Stephen's on 18 June. The Brownhills & Pelsall, Stafford and Cannock Chase circuits all got together for an afternoon of fun. Over 100 children attended. There was a live band, singing, first aid, painting pots, face painting, flower arranging, decorating biscuits, woodwork, popcorn making and lots more. Everyone bought a picnic tea. A very enjoyable time was had by all on a very hot Saturday afternoon!
