Performing Arts Concert The young people of St Stephens provided us with a very enjoyable musical evening on 19 March. The evening included some praise music, rock, Chopin, singing, dancing and much more. A big thank you to all who took part. £270 was raised towards the church organ fund.
E100 Bible Challenge 2011 is Year of the Bible. As part of the Biblefresh initiative St Stephen's are getting involved in 'The Essential 100 challenge'. The idea is to read 100 carefully selected short bible passages, 50 from the Old Testament and 50 from the New Testament, and is designed to give participants a good understanding of the overall Bible story from Genesis to Revelation.
We have a free bible reading planner for
everyone who would like to participate and have purchased some Essential
100 guides to help reflect on the Bible's meaning and relevance today and
more can be purchased if required. John Howard's Walk of the District
John Howard, Chairman of the Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury District, recently undertook a 10 day walk, approximately 175 miles, of the district in aid of the Komera Project for Rwanda. He visited St Stephen's on Day 9 for coffee and prayers. This project has been set up in the aftermath of the genocide of 1994 in Rwanda. John is hoping to raise awareness of the issues facing the Rwandan people and funds to date have helped towards the building of an isolation ward for Kibogora Hospital and to provide better facilities at PHARP, the centre for peace, healing and reconciliation in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda.
